Chapter 450B - Emergency Medical Services
GENERAL PROVISIONS
Section 450B.280 - "Volunteer service" defined
"Volunteer service" means a service approved by the Division for the operation of any ambulance or air ambulance, or other motor vehicle which is not used for the transportation of patients, for the purpose of responding to emergencies or transporting sick or injured persons or dead bodies without compensation other than reimbursements to defray the actual expenses of providing the service. A "volunteer service" may be wholly or partly subsidized and may be operated under the auspices of a governmental or public agency or an industrial or nonprofit corporation.
