Section 445A.835 - "Subsidence" defined

"Subsidence" means a lowering of the surface of natural land which is caused by:

1. The movement of the earth;

2. A lowering of the pressure of fluids;

3. The removal of underlying supporting material by mining or solution of solids, artificially or by natural causes;

4. A compaction of the soil because of wetting (hydrocompaction);

5. Oxidation of organic matter in soils; or

6. An increased load on the surface of the land.
