Section 444.00905 - Requirements for sterilization room

1. The sterilization room must:
(a) Be separated by
a door or other enclosure from the procedure area;
(b) Be properly identified with signs that
include the universal symbol for biohazard waste and secured to prevent
unauthorized persons from entering; and
(c) Be equipped with at least one
two-compartment sink with hot and cold running water for cleaning and
disinfecting instruments.
2. The sterilization room must have distinct, separate areas for the cleaning of equipment, the wrapping and packaging of equipment, and the handling and storage of sterilized equipment.
