Section 441A.660 - Respiratory syncytial virus infection

The health authority shall investigate each report of a case having respiratory syncytial virus infection, as identified by the finding of respiratory syncytial virus in clinical specimens or by demonstration of a specific serologic response in acute and convalescent sera upon testing by a medical laboratory, to:
1. Confirm the diagnosis; and
2. Obtain sufficient information about the case for the purpose of surveillance.
