Staffing Requirements; Number of Children
Section 432A.536 - Group homes

1. Except as otherwise provided in subsection 3 and NAC 432A.546, a licensee of a group home shall abide by the following limits on staffing levels:

Less than 1 year of age |
1 caregiver for every 2 children |
1 year of age or older but less than 3 years of age |
1 caregiver for every 4 children |
3 years of age or older |
2 caregivers for every 6 children |
Three caregivers must be on duty whenever eight or more of the children in the facility are children with special needs.

3. A child of the person who resides in a facility pursuant to subsection 2 will be counted to determine whether a licensee is in compliance with subsection 1 only if the child is less than 4 years of age.
