Section 432A.520 - General requirements; requirements for field trips

1. A licensee of a child care facility shall have a staff which is sufficient in number to provide physical care, supervision and individual attention to each child and allow time for interaction between the staff and the children to promote the children's social competence, emotional well-being and intellectual development.
2. Except as otherwise provided in subsection 3, in addition to the number of caregivers that are required to satisfy the applicable ratio of caregivers to children set forth in section 5, one additional caregiver or an adult volunteer per each group of children must be present on all field trips away from the child care facility to assist in providing direct supervision to the children and to increase the safety of the children.
