Chapter 391 - EDUCATIONAL PERSONNEL
SPECIAL ENDORSEMENTS
Section 391.215 - Endorsement to teach art

To receive an endorsement to teach art, a person must hold a bachelor's degree and:
1. Have completed an approved program of preparation for teaching art; or
2. Have completed:
(a) Thirty-six semester hours
in the principles of fine and applied arts which included:
(1) The history of art;
(2) Design;
(3) Drawing;
(4) Painting;
(5) Digital or graphic arts;
(6) Ceramics or sculpture; and
(7) Photography or printmaking;
and
(b) Twenty-two
semester hours of professional education which included:
(1) Foundations of education;
(2) Methods of teaching art in elementary or
secondary schools;
(3) Eight
semester hours of supervised teaching; and
(4) Three semester hours in strategies for
working with students with disabilities, including curricular
adaptation.
