Section 240.220 - Incomplete applications

If an application for appointment as a notary public is incomplete, the Secretary of State will retain the application for at least 1 year from the date of receipt of the application. If the clerk of the county in which the applicant resides does not certify to the Secretary of State that the applicant's bond and oath have been filed and recorded within 1 year from the date of receipt of the application, the Secretary of State may destroy the application.
