If the filing officer notices a potential defect in a UCC document, whether or not the document was filed or refused for filing, the filing officer may so inform the filer or remitter, but has no duty to do so. The responsibility for the legal effectiveness of a filing rests with the filer and the remitter, and the filing officer has no responsibility for the legal effectiveness of a filing.
