Section 180-7-035 - VIAL AND SYRINGE SHIELDS

035.01 VIALS CONTAINING RADIOACTIVE DRUGS. A licensee must require each individual preparing or handling a vial containing a radioactive drug to keep the vial in a vial shield.

035.02 SYRINGES CONTAINING RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL. A licensee must:

(A) Keep syringes containing radioactive material to be administered in a shield; and

(B) Require each individual who prepares or administers radioactive drugs to use a syringe shield unless the use of the shield is contraindicated for that patient or human research subject.
