Section 180-7-029 - POSSESSION, USE, AND CALIBRATION OF INSTRUMENTS USED TO MEASURE THE ACTIVITY OF UNSEALED RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL

To perform direct measurements according to 180 NAC 7-031, a licensee must:
(A) Possess and use instrumentation to measure the activity of unsealed radioactive material before administration to each patient or human research subject;
(B) Calibrate the instrumentation according to nationally recognized standards or the manufacturer's instructions. The calibrations must, at minimum and as appropriate to demonstrate proper operation of the instrument, test for:
(i)
Constancy;
(ii)
Linearity;
(iii) Accuracy;
and
(iv) Geometry dependence;
and
(C) Retain a record of each instrument test required by 180 NAC 7-029 according to 180 NAC 7-091.
