Chapter 7 - MEDICAL USE OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL
Section 180-7-017 - DUTIES OF AUTHORIZED USER AND AUTHORIZED MEDICAL PHYSICIST

017.01 AUTHORIZED USER. Only authorized users for the type of radioactive material used:

(A) Prescribe the radiopharmaceutical dosage or dose to be administered through the issuance of a written directive or reference to the diagnostic clinical procedures manual;

(B) Direct, as specified in 180 NAC 7-018 and 7-019, or in license conditions, the administration of radioactive material for medical use to patients or human research subjects;

(C) Prepare and administer, or supervise the preparation and administration of radioactive material for medical use, according to 180 NAC 7-007 and 7-018; and

(D) Perform the final interpretation of the results of tests, studies, or treatments.

017.02 AUTHORIZED MEDICAL PHYSICIST. Only authorized medical physicists may perform, as applicable:

(A) Full calibration measurement as described in 180 NAC 7-073, 7-074, and 7-075; and

(B) Radiation surveys as described in 180 NAC 7-080.
