Section 179-7-010 - DISTINCTIONS APPLIED TO NON-COMMUNITY WATER SYSTEMS

010.01 By first providing written notification to the Department, the owner of a non-community water system may accomplish siting, design, and construction in accordance with Title 178 NAC 12, Water Well Construction, Pump Installation, and Water Well Decommissioning Standards if the project involves a well:

1. With a capacity of less than 100 gallons per minute (gpm), associated bladder tank and piping in a water system with a total system capacity not exceeding 200 gpm, and

2. With the top of its well screen greater than 50 feet from the original ground surface, and

3. That is greater than 200 feet from a surface water source.

010.02 All other non-community water system projects meeting the definition of major construction, extension, or alteration must be accomplished in accordance with Title 179 NAC 7.
