Section 179-13-003 - GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

003.01 Each public water system with a surface water source or a ground water source under the direct influence of surface water must provide treatment of that source water that complies with these treatment technique requirements. 003.02 Each ground water source providing water to a public system will be examined to determine whether or not it is under the direct influence of surface water. The examination will be performed in accordance with the protocol described in Attachment 2 to 179 NAC 13.
003.03 A public water system using surface water as a source must include filtration which meets the requirements of 179 NAC 13-006.
003.04 A public water system using a ground water source under the direct influence of surface water is considered to be in compliance with the requirements of 179 NAC 13-003 if:
003.05 Additional Requirements for Systems Serving at Least 10,000 People
In addition to complying with the requirements in 179 NAC 13, systems serving at least 10,000 people must also comply with the requirements in 179 NAC 17.
003.06 Additional Requirements for Systems Serving Fewer Than 10,000 People
In addition to complying with the requirements in 179 NAC 13, systems serving fewer than 10,000 people must also comply with the requirements in 179 NAC 19.
