(1) Except as otherwise allowed or required by operation of law or order of the commission, gas suppliers may commence operations in the Montana service areas of restructured utilities, and those areas otherwise allowing a competitive supply, upon issuance of a license by the commission.
(2) Upon issuance of a license, the gas supplier shall notify all distribution service providers serving in the area of the gas supplier's intended operations.
