Rule 38.5.2512 - METER ACCURACY

(1) Accuracy Dispute. In case of a dispute as to the accuracy of a meter, the consumer, may demand that the meter be removed, and tested as to accuracy, in his presence. If the meter is found to be registering correctly or in favor of the consumer, the cost of such testing and replacing of the meter shall be borne by the consumer. If the meter is found to be recording incorrectly and against the consumer, the cost of such testing and replacing of the meter shall be borne by the utility. A meter registering not in excess of plus or minus two percent of accuracy shall be deemed to be registering correctly.
(2) If an over collection or under collection error in billing has occurred due to an inaccurate meter, the utility shall follow ARM 38.5.2503(8).
