Rule 37.97.147 - YOUTH CARE FACILITY (YCF): YOUTH ORIENTATION

(1) A YCF shall have written orientation policies and procedures for admission to the YCF. For youth over the age of five, the youth's orientation shall include but is not limited to:
(a) a procedure for ensuring that each youth
receives a personal orientation to the YCF as soon as appropriate, but not
later than 24 hours after admission;
(b) inventory of each youth's
belongings;
(c) behavioral
expectations;
(d) information on
privilege systems;
(e) discipline
policy;
(f) health and safety
procedures;
(g) YCF
rules;
(h) information on the YCF's
search policies; and
(i) emergency
evacuation procedures, including escape routes.
(2) Documentation that is signed by both the youth and the staff person(s) conducting the orientation must be placed in the youth's file.
