(1) These rules implement Montana's TANF program authorized under section 401 of the Social Security Act, 42 USC 601, et seq. The purpose of this project is to provide temporary assistance for needy families and to assist families in obtaining or advancing in their employment or finding alternatives to public assistance where employment is precluded by disability or other causes.
