Rule 37.34.925 - 0208 MEDICAID HOME AND COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES PROGRAM: ADAPTIVE EQUIPMENT

(1) Adaptive equipment is equipment necessary for the person to obtain or retain employment or to increase independent functioning in completing activities of daily living.
(2) Adaptive equipment must:
(a) relate specifically to and be
primarily for the person's disability;
(b) have utility primarily for a person who
has a disability;
(c) meet the
specifications, if applicable, for the equipment set by the American National
Standards Institute (ANSI);
(d) be
prior authorized by the department if the cost of the project may exceed
$4,000; and
(e) be unavailable
through any other sources.
