Rule 24.29.1523 - MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES

(1) If the relative value unit is null or not listed on the fee schedule for durable medical equipment, reimbursement is the total of:

(a) item cost;

(b) shipping cost; and

(c) the lesser of $30 or 30% of the item cost.

(2) If a provider adds value to durable medical equipment (such as by complex assembly, modification, or special fabrication), then the provider may charge a reasonable fee for those services. Unpacking an item or simple fitting may not be billed. Extensive fitting of devices may be billed.
