Rule 24.183.510 - GRANT AND ISSUE LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

(1) At the time an applicant meets the requirements for licensure by the board, the applicant will be assigned a license number and issued a license as a professional engineer and/or professional land surveyor as appropriate. These numbers will be issued consecutively in the order in which the applications are approved by the board. The applicant will be advised of the license number in the notice sent to the applicant.

(2) The engineer intern certificate will be active for two years and may be renewed for additional two-year periods for a fee prescribed in ARM 24.183.404. Pursuant to an agreement with the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), the board has agreed to retain examination scores. Upon request, the individual may obtain the national exam score and verification for a fee prescribed by the department.

(3) The land surveyor intern certificate will be valid for two years and may be renewed for additional two-year periods for a fee prescribed in ARM 24.183.404.

(4) A license authorizing the practice of professional engineering or professional land surveying by a sole proprietorship, firm, partnership, or corporation shall be granted by the board and issued by the department after approval of an application for a certificate of authorization and payment of the license fee. A wall certificate shall be signed by the presiding officer and shall bear the license number of the licensee, sole proprietorship, firm, partnership, or corporation.

(5) All licenses and certificates identified through this rule shall be subject to lapse, expiration, and termination under 37-1-141, MCA, and ARM 24.101.413.
