(1) A local advisory committee is a group of persons who advise and assist decision makers on the design and maintenance of relevant career and vocational/technical education programs based on the assessed needs of the community, region, state, or nation. The advisory committee's primary function is to provide industry-specific information and assistance to the career and vocational/ technical education program.
