Section 14 CSR 80-6.010 - Definitions for Batterer Intervention Program Credentialing

PURPOSE: This rule identifies definitions used in this chapter.
(1) For the purpose of 14 CSR 80-6-
(A) The term
"batterer" refers to someone who has engaged in violent or coercive behaviors
against someone with whom he or she is in an intimate relationship;
(B) The term "batterer intervention program"
refers to a program that meets minimum credentialing standards for the
treatment of batterers;
(C) The
terms "domestic violence" or "domestic battery" refer to violent or coercive
behaviors both criminal and noncriminal, committed by a person against someone
with whom he or she is in an intimate relationship;
(D) The term "victim" refers to a person that
is currently, or has been, subject to domestic violence;
(E) The term "provider" refers to an entity
that provides domestic violence programming for a fee for service in the
community;
(F) The term "staff"
refers to an employee of a provider who has completed the appropriate
educational requirements to deliver domestic violence programming and has met
the required education and certification criteria to provide the services;
and
(G) The term "program" refers
to the curriculum delivered by a domestic violence provider in the community as
outlined by the credentialing process to be a recognized as a domestic violence
provider.
