PREFACE
Student records are collected, maintained, and disseminated as required by Sections 37-15-1 through 37-15-3, Mississippi Code of1972, as amended, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, as a. mended, ' 20. USC Section 1231, and the Confidentiality Section of the Individuals with Disabilities Act, 1997 Amendments.
This manual has been prepared for the use by administrators, counselors, teachers, and other authorized staff in the schools of Mississippi and is to be used as a guide in completing the cumulative folders and permanent records as required by Mississippi law. Sections I and VI include the pertinent State and Federal education laws. Sections II, Ill, IV, and V provide specific information concerning the completion and use of the cumulative folder and permanent record.
