The total "energy saving performance contract" or "shared savings contract" may not have a payback period longer than 20 years. Individual Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) may have payback periods longer than 20 years; however, the combined payback for the ESPC must be less than or equal to 20 years. Per Section 31-7-14, Miss. Code, the useful life of each energy system or equipment shall meet or exceed the term of the contract to be considered an eligible measure. Eligible ECMs are any type of project or technology implemented to reduce the consumption of energy systems or equipment. ECMs should provide long-term operation cost reductions or significantly reduce energy and/or water consumed.
