Section 33-14-II - Goals of Mississippi's Drinking Water Systems Improvements Revolving Loan Fund (DWSIRLF) Program - LSLR Fund
Universal Citation: MS Code of Rules 33-14-II
Current through September 24, 2024
The LSLR Fund was created by the BIL to provide funding through the DWSIRLF Program for a five-year duration. Overall and Five-Year Goals for the LSLR Fund include:
A. Overall Goal:
Improve public health by providing funding and technical support to public water systems in Mississippi for the removal of lead materials in drinking water service lines and related activities.
B. Five-Year Goals:
1. Improve public health by providing technical support to small (less than 10,000 population) public water systems in Mississippi for the completion of lead service line inventories. This goal can lead into providing capital project funding for the removal of lead service lines identified during these inventories.
2. Provide funding and technical support to public water systems in Mississippi in planning for full, not partial, lead service line replacement. This helps to address the equity challenge that for some property owners, the cost to replace their portion of lead service lines is prohibitively high1.
