1. Once an emergency telecommunicator is hired by an agency or private company, it is that employer's responsibility to get the telecommunicator certified. The process for meeting the requirements for certification is derived from the ability to know and perform the learning objectives as defined in the Job Task Analysis. These skills should be acquired from formal classroom instruction as provided by Board-approved courses.
