Mississippi Administrative Code
Title 28 - Ports and Airports
Part 1 - TARIFF NO.7 SCHEDULE OF CHARGES, RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR PORT TERMINAL SERVICES
Chapter 02 - General Rules and Regulations
Section 28-1-02-200 - STORM PROTECTION

Universal Citation: MS Code of Rules 28-1-02-200

Current through September 24, 2024

A. CARGO

When advance warnings indicate inclement weather conditions are expected to affect the Port, the owners and/or agents of all cargoes stored in open areas are required to take protective measures, both for the cargo and for the protection of other property. Should the owner fail to provide such storm protection, the Port Authority is authorized but not obligated to protect such cargo against storm damage, at the sole risk and expense of the cargo owners and/or agents.

B. VESSELS

Vessel owners, operators, masters and agents must assure the safety of vessels and Port facilities by the use of adequate mooring lines, anchors and fenders. Should conditions warrant, vessels must be prepared to and proceed to sea when so instructed by the Port Authority.

(See Hurricane Plan, distributed to all agents)
