Universal Citation: MS Code of Rules 24-1-8.1.7
Current through September 24, 2024

There shall be a Department wide sliding fee discount scale adopted. This sliding fee discount shall take into consideration family size and income as reflected in federal poverty guidelines and shall be adjusted annually when such federal poverty guidelines are adjusted. This sliding fee discount scale shall specify percentage discounts from regular rates based on family size and income. In the event that the person even with such discount cannot pay, further discounts even zero, are permitted based on the individual facts and circumstances of each case. In no event shall a person be denied service solely because of inability to pay. At the next Board of Mental Health meeting following a change in the sliding fee discount, the Bureau Director of Administration shall present a report to the Board of Mental Health listing the calculation of the sliding fee and indicating, for those sliding fees that have changed since the last presentation, the old sliding fee discount and the new one.
