Rule 16-5-9.1 - Policy for Reviewing and Permitting Changes to the Governor's Mansion

Section 39-5-6(e), MCA 1972, establishes as a duty for the Board of Trustees "to review and approve any major changes in the architecture, furniture, furnishings, decoration or landscaping of the grounds of the Governor's Mansion." The intent of this section is to empower the Board to maintain and preserve the historical integrity of the restored mansion and grounds. It is the policy of the Board of Trustees to review and permit any changes to the interior of the historic portion of the Governor's Mansion, the exterior of all structures on the grounds of the Governor's Mansion, and the historic garden, and any changes to the family quarters of the Governor's Mansion that might affect the structural integrity of the historic portion.
