The laws of the state of Mississippi provide for the adoption of and for the issuance of new birth certificates to adopted individuals. The law, further, provides a method for the adoptee or the adoptive parents, in cases where the adoptee is a minor, to obtain non-identifying and identifying information concerning the birth parents, and for the birth parents to permit or prohibit contact by the adoptee or the adoptive parents.
