Rule 15-20-72-1.12.3 - Low Hazard Cross Connections
Backflow prevention assemblies recommended to protect low hazard cross connections shall include reduced pressure principle assemblies, pressure vacuum breaker assemblies, atmospheric vacuum breaker assemblies, and double check valve assemblies. Pressure vacuum breaker assemblies shall not be used in locations where the vacuum breaker may be subject to back pressure and shall not be used in locations where the vacuum breaker is not higher than all downstream connections. Atmospheric vacuum breakers shall not be installed in locations that may be subject to back pressure, shall not be installed in locations where the vacuum breaker is not higher than all downstream locations, shall not be installed in locations with valves downstream and shall not be installed in locations of continuous use.
