UPC section 403.3 is amended to read as follows:

403.3 Urinals. Urinals shall have an average water consumption not to exceed 1 gallon (4 L) of water per flush.

403.3.1 Nonwater urinals. Nonwater urinals shall be listed and comply with the applicable standards referenced in Table 1401.1. Nonwater urinals shall have a barrier liquid sealant to maintain a trap seal. Nonwater urinals shall permit the uninhibited flow of waste through the urinal to the sanitary drainage system. Nonwater urinals shall be cleaned and maintained in accordance with the manufacturers instructions after installation. Where a nonwater urinal is installed, a water-supplied fixture shall be installed upstream of the nonwater urinal at the end of that same drainage branch.
