Part 7511.1204 - SECTION 1204, SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC POWER SYSTEMS

Subpart 1. IFC section 1204.1.
IFC section 1204.1 is amended and subsections are added to read:
Exception: Buildings regulated by Minnesota Rules, chapter 1309, the Minnesota Residential Code.
The electrical portion of solar PV systems shall be installed in accordance with the Minnesota Electrical Code.
Roof access points shall meet all the following criteria
Subp. 2. IFC section 1204.2.
IFC section 1204.2 and its subsections are entirely deleted and replaced with the following:
Exceptions:
For each roof plane with a photovoltaic array, not fewer than one 36-inch wide pathway from lowest roof edge to ridge shall be provided on the same roof plane as the photovoltaic array, on an adjacent roof plane, or straddling the same and adjacent roof planes.
Subp. 3. IFC section 1204.3.
IFC section 1204.3 and its subsections are entirely deleted and replaced with the following:
Exception: Where either axis of the building is 250 feet (76,220 mm) or less, the clear perimeter around the edges of the roof shall be permitted to be reduced to a minimum width of 4 feet (1,219 mm).
Subp. 4. IFC section 1204.6.
