Part 1311.1301 - SECTION 1301, GENERAL

Subpart 1. Section 1301.2 Applicability.

IEBC section 1301.2 is amended to read as follows:

1301.2 Applicability.

Structures existing prior to the effective date of this code, in which there is work involving additions, alterations, or change of occupancy shall be made to conform to the requirements of IEBC chapter 13 or the provisions of IEBC chapters 6 to 12. The provisions of sections 1301.2.1 to 1301.2.5 shall apply to existing occupancies that will continue to be, or are proposed to be, in Groups A, B, E, F, 1-2, M, R, and S. These provisions shall not apply to buildings with occupancies in Group H, 1-1,1-3, or 1-4.

Subp. 2. Section 1301.3.1 Hazards.

IEBC section 1301.3.1 is amended to read as follows:

1301.3.1 Hazards. Where the code official determines that an unsafe condition or hazardous building, as defined in Minnesota Statutes, section 463.15, exists as provided for in Minnesota Rules, part 1300.0180, such unsafe condition or hazard shall be abated in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, sections 463.15 to 463.26.

Subp. 3. Section 1301.3.2 Compliance with other codes.

IEBC section 1301.3.2 is amended to read as follows:

1301.3.2 Compliance with other codes. Compliance with other codes is deleted in its entirety.
