Chapter 4731 - RADIATION SAFETY
SPECIFIC DOMESTIC LICENSING OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL
Part 4731.3300 - SPECIFIC DOMESTIC LICENSES TO MANUFACTURE OR TRANSFER CERTAIN ITEMS CONTAINING RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL

Subpart 1. Scope.
Parts 4731.3300 to 4731.3400 provide for:
A. issuance of specific licenses to persons
who manufacture or initially transfer items containing radioactive material for
sale or distribution to persons exempted from the licensing requirements of
parts 4731.3000 to 4731.3175 or persons generally licensed under parts
4731.3200 to 4731.3245 or 4731.4400 to 4731.4527 and rules governing holders of
such licenses;
B. issuance of
specific licenses to persons who introduce radioactive material into a product
or material owned by or in the possession of the licensee or another and rules
governing holders of such licenses; and
C. issuance of certificates of registration
(governing radiation safety information about a product) to manufacturers or
initial transferors of sealed source or devices containing sealed sources that
are to be used by persons specifically licensed under parts 4731.3000 to
4731.3175 or equivalent regulations of the NRC or an agreement state.
Subp. 2. Applicability.
Parts 4731.3300 to 4731.3400 are in addition to, and not in substitution for, other requirements of this chapter. In particular, the provisions of parts 4731.3000 to 4731.3175 apply to applications, licenses, and certificates of registration subject to parts 4731.3300 to 4731.3400.
