Part 4731.4477 - TELETHERAPY AND GAMMA STEREOTACTIC RADIOSURGERY UNITS; FULL-INSPECTION SERVICING

Subpart 1. Inspection and servicing required. A licensee must have each teletherapy unit and gamma stereotactic radiosurgery unit fully inspected and serviced during source replacement to assure proper functioning of the source exposure mechanism and other safety components. The interval between each full-inspection servicing must not exceed five years for each teletherapy unit, and must not exceed seven years for each gamma stereotactic radiosurgery unit.

Subp. 2. Qualified inspectors. The inspection and servicing must be performed by persons specifically licensed to do so by the commissioner, the NRC, or an agreement state.

Subp. 3. Record retention.

A licensee must keep a record of the inspection and servicing according to part 4731.4524.
