Chapter 4658 - NURSING HOMES
REHABILITATIVE SERVICES
Part 4658.1200 - SPECIALIZED REHABILITATIVE SERVICES

Subpart 1. Definitions.
For purposes of this part, the following terms have the meanings given them.
A. "Qualified
personnel" means professional staff who are licensed, certified, or registered
in accordance with applicable state laws and rules, and are educated to perform
the particular service safely and competently.
B. "Specialized rehabilitative services"
means restorative therapy and specialized maintenance therapy including, but
not limited to, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech
therapy.
Subp. 2. Provision of services.
If specialized rehabilitative services are required in the resident's comprehensive plan of care, the nursing home must:
A. provide the required services;
or
B. obtain the required services
from an outside source according to part 4658.0075.
Subp. 3. Qualified personnel.
Specialized rehabilitative services must be provided by qualified personnel under the written order of a physician or other health care practitioner authorized to prescribe.
