Subpart 1. Computation of time.

In computing any period of time prescribed by these rules or the procedural rules of the board, the day of the last act, event, or default from which the designated period of time begins to run shall not be included. The last calendar day of the period so computed shall be included, unless it is a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, in which event the next working day shall be deemed the last day of the period.

Subp. 2. Extra time after service by mail.

Whenever a person has the right or is required to do some act or take some action within a prescribed period after the service of a notice or other paper upon that person, or whenever such service is required to be made within a prescribed period before a specified event, and the notice or paper is served by mail, three days shall be added to the prescribed period.
