Section R. 168.785 - Duplication of ballot cards

Rule 15.

(1) When a ballot card is duplicated, the duplication process shall be performed by not less than 2 election inspectors of differing political party preference.

(2) A duplicate ballot card shall be marked "DUPLICATE # __________ ." The number to be recorded on the duplicate card shall be the same identifying number recorded on the original card by the precinct inspector. The precinct number shall be recorded on the duplicate card.

(3) A duplicate ballot card shall be compared against the original ballot card to ensure that it has been accurately duplicated.

(4) An original ballot card which required duplication shall be placed in the envelope marked "ORIGINAL BALLOT CARDS FOR WHICH DUPLICATES HAVE BEEN MADE FOR ANY REASON" and shall be placed in the transfer case for that precinct. The duplicated ballot cards shall be placed with the ballot cards to be tabulated.
