Rule 5b.

(1) Pursuant to sections 51101 and 51103, of the act, MCL 324.51101 and 324.51103, an owner shall maintain a current, written forest management plan in effect for all commercial forest land, submit a copy of the plan to the department to determine if it meets the minimum requirements established by the department, and actively manage the commercial forest land according to the plan. Not less than 30 days before the expiration of the owner's forest management plan, the owner shall submit a copy of a new or updated forest management plan to the department to determine if it meets the minimum requirements established by the department.

(2) A forest management plan must meet the minimum requirements established by the department.

(3) The owner shall submit a copy of an amended or revised forest management plan to the department to determine if it meets the minimum requirements established by the department, 30 days before of any amendment or revision to a forest management plan.

(4) The certification required in section 51103 of the act, MCL 324.51103, for listing land must be on the commercial forest list application.
