Rule 447.
(1) The design and shielding specifications for an accelerator shall be submitted to and approved by the department before issuance of a certificate of registration. After construction, the radiation safety of the installation shall be established by a protection survey conducted pursuant to R 333.5063. A written report of the initial survey shall be submitted to the department and approved in writing before continued operation of the accelerator.
(2) An accelerator installation shall be provided with primary or secondary barriers as are necessary to ensure compliance with R 333.5057 to R 333.5061.
