Rule 578.

(1) All completed building maintenance equipment installations shall be inspected and tested in the field before being placed in initial service to determine that all parts of the installation are in compliance with applicable requirements of these rules, and that all safety and operating equipment is functioning as required.

(2) A similar inspection and test shall be made after any major alteration to an existing installation.

(3) A hoist in an installation shall not be subjected to a load that is more than 125% of its rated load.
