SYNTHETIC WEB SLINGS
Section R. 408.14964 - Use; safe operating temperatures

Rule 4964.
(1) When a synthetic web sling is used, the following precautions shall be taken:
(a) A nylon web sling shall not be used where
fumes, vapors, sprays, mists, or liquids of acids or phenolics are
present.
(b) A polyester and
polypropylene web sling shall not be used where fumes, vapors, sprays, mists,
or liquids of caustics are present.
(c) A web sling with aluminum fittings shall
not be used where fumes, vapors, sprays, mists, or liquids of caustics are
present.
(2) A synthetic web sling of polyester and nylon shall not be used at a temperature in excess of 180 degrees Fahrenheit.
(3) A polypropylene web sling shall not be used at a temperature in excess of 200 degrees Fahrenheit. (See figure 6 "Basic Synthetic Web Sling Constructions.")
