Rule 3385.
(1) An employer shall ensure that each affected employee shall wear protective footwear when working in areas where any of the following occur:
(a) When the use of protective footwear will
protect the affected employee from an electrical hazard, such as a
static-discharge or electric-shock hazard, that remains after the employer
takes other necessary protective measures.
(b) There is a danger of foot injuries due to
falling or rolling objects.
(c)
There is a danger of objects piercing the sole of the shoe.
(2) An employer shall ensure that safety shoes and boots that are not worn over shoes and that are worn by more than 1 employee are maintained, cleaned, and sanitized inside and out before being issued to another employee.
