Section R. 400.512 - Definition of acute illness

Rule 512. "Hospitalization for an acute illness" is defined as in-patient care in an approved hospital for:

(a) an illness, injury, or defect which has arisen within 60 days immediately prior to date of entry into the hospital, or

(b) admission to the hospital for an exacerbation of an illness, injury, or defect which has existed more than 60 days prior to admission, or

(c) surgery.
