Section R. 336.1352 - Pushing operation fugitive emissions from coke ovens

Rule 352.
(1) During a pushing operation, a person shall not cause or permit to be discharged into the outer air, from any opening between the oven and the coke-receiving car or from the coke-receiving car, a visible emission with a density of more than 25% opacity, except that 1 pushing operation of any 8 consecutively observed pushing operations shall be permitted to exceed this requirement.
(2) A person shall not cause or permit to be discharged into the outer air, from the coke in any coke-receiving car as it travels from the oven to the quench tower, a visible emission with a density of more than 25% opacity, except that 1 trip to the quench tower in any 8 consecutively observed trips per battery shall be permitted to exceed this requirement.
(3) Compliance with the limits specified in this rule shall be determined using reference test method 9B.
