Title 940 CMR 19.00 - Retail Marketing And Sale Of Electricity
Section 19.01 - Purpose

The Attorney General has determined that the promulgation of regulations is necessary in a competitive electricity market in order to protect Massachusetts consumers from unfair or deceptive acts or practices and to provide retail electricity sellers and marketers with notice of the illegality of such acts or practices. The Attorney General promulgates 940 CMR 19.00 pursuant to the authority granted by M.G.L. c. 164, § 102C(a) and M.G.L. c. 93A, § 2(c). Any violation of any provision of 940 CMR 19.00 shall be a violation of M.G.L. c. 93A, § 2(a).
