Title 220 CMR 79.00 - Annual Return To Be Filed by Gas, Electric, and Water Companies and Municipal Lighting Plants

Under the provisions of M.G.L. c. 164, §§ 63, 83, and M.G.L. c. 165, § 2, annually on or before March 31st each gas company, electric company, water company, municipal light plant, or other person engaged in the manufacture, sale, or distribution of gas, electricity, or water shall file an annual return with the Department. In addition, under M.G.L. c. 164, § 84A, each gas company and electric company is required to file a condensed return of business and financial condition with the Department. The annual returns and condensed returns of business and financial condition shall be in the form prescribed by the Department. If revisions are made subsequent to the filing of the annual return, copies of the revised annual return must be sent to the Commission and the Director of the Rates and Revenue Requirements Division along with a letter explaining the nature of the revisions.

Each gas company, electric company, water company, and municipal light plant must submit to the Department one paper copy and one electronic copy of the required documents.
