Section 6.15 - Closing of Wagering in a Contest

(1) A Commission representative shall close wagering for each contest after which time no pari-mutuel tickets shall be sold for that contest. (ARCI c. 9 g.p. § O(1))

(2) The association shall maintain, in good order, a system approved by the Commission for closing wagering. (ARCI c. 9 g.p. § O(2))

(3) The pari-mutuel machines will be locked by electrical control when the gates of the starting gate open at the start of each race. In no case shall the machines be unlocked until the declaration that the race is official.

(4) In horse racing, the Commission Steward shall sound the bell closing the pari-mutuel machines not later than at the opening of the starting gate.

(5) In harness racing, the Commission Judge shall sound the bell closing the pari-mutuel machines immediately upon the official start of the race.

(6) In horse racing, if a horse or horses are locked in the gate, the proper racing official shall promptly notify the Manager of the Pari-mutuel Department of the name and number of said horse or horses.
